We also visited Citronella, an Italian restaurant next door (Sugar Beach), which is good. Le Morne is great for a cocktail whilst watching the sunset. If you go all-inclusive the most of the menu attracts no supplement save for some specialities like lobster or seafood grill. If you like good food and table service, Magenta is absolutely fantastic. The hotel has 4 restaurants/bars: Wollmar is the main buffet restaurant, Coconut beach bar (traditional Creole cuisine), Magenta a la carte and Le Morne bar. There is a big swimming pool with trees and figures in the middle if you are a pool person. The beach drinks trolley is a fantastic addition! There are plenty of sun loungers and parasols on the beach. There is a lot is coral, so beach shoes are recommended for those with sensitive feet. A long strip of white sand against the backdrop of coconut palm trees and the dramatic mountainous landscape including iconic Le Morne. The beach is beautiful and arguably Flic en Flac beach is the best in Mauritius. There is so much character and authenticity. The hotel grounds are enormous, the sea front is 500 meters long. The bungalows are arranged in arched rows in the coconut grove. The interior is simple and quirky at the same time: whitewashed cobbled walls, wicker furniture, knitted lampshades. What a fabulous place! Accommodation is one story authentic bungalows with thatched roofs, light and spacious with high ceilings. We have just returned from Mauritius where we had a 10-night stay at La Pirogue.
